Dasein Paintings – Large
These paintings are human scale painted on ply wood doors. Gessoed until skin smooth, then layered with vibrant oil paint and acrylic paint. These paintings made my MA final show in 2015. Dasein is a German word that means ‘being there’, ‘presence’ or ‘existence. A fundamental concept in the existential philosophy of Martin Heidegger who uses ‘Dasein’ to refer to the experience of being that is peculiar to humans.
